Century Casino Edmonton Nov 16, 2019

The Metal Queen Lee Aaron rocked the Century Casino on Saturday night. Her style has grown from rock to jazz and blues and back again as she proves yet again that she is a true Canadian icon. Opening the show with fan favourite Hands On, the dance floor filled and stayed full for the entire show. A new song American High, a great mixture of classic rock and the blues, is a tongue in cheek commentary on the situation down south and makes us glad to be Canadian. Guitarist Sean Kelly and Bassist Dave Reimer match Lee Aaron’s high energy with drummer John Cody keeping everyone in line. Showcasing her vocal range, they launched into a rocked out version Dee Dee Warwick’s song You’re No Good before taking on Koko Taylor’s I’m A Woman. Classic hits like Sex With Love and Some Girls Do gave us a great mixture of old and new. Closing the show with rock anthem What Cha Do To My Body had the hair flying and had everyone singing along. Lee Aaron is such an incredible performer and always gives fans a worthwhile show.
